I started working at Kasthall Mattor och Golv AB when I was fourteen years old, having worked in one way or another since that day. I studied carpentry in high school and felt early on the urge to create was something I wanted to pursue in my life. With this in mind I applied to a technical base year and did that before I got elected to Uppsala University, studying a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. I decided to further educate myself and kept on studied a masters degree in Industrial Design Engineering. Furthermore, I wanted to test my limits, so parallel with this I studied another bachelor degree in Design and Product Development, both at Chalmers University of Technology, and finished both in in a two year period.
My background as a carpenter thought me the skills of building with my hands and to see what works and not. My degree in mechanical engineering has given me the technical aspects of constructing products to fit the needs of an ever changing technology. Finally my education in design and products development has given me the means to combine these experiences into a profession which I aspire to fulfill. I have always enjoyed building stuff, I liked math as well as art in school, but I never knew these things were so closely related to each other, a kind of work that combine the crafts of engineering with the creative world… industrial design.
From my point of view, it’s no use in doing anything if you aren’t going to compete with the best, that’s my ambition, to be the best at what I do. My inspiration is to make the future seem real through models, animations, movies, and storytelling. To make products desirable, to make people want things and feel good using them and at the same time make these products have a minimal impact on the planet. I want to use design as a critical tool to make speculations and statements, to observe people, how they use and understand designed items. I can take an electrical prototype, a patent or a mechanical assembly and turn it into a desirable, effective, and feasible object.
My journey begins now!
