The subject of design demands the creator to have knowledge in construction of models, an eye for the technical factors of your design as well as the economics behind a product. On top of this you need an artistic mindset to reach the public with your ideas.
My background as a carpenter has thought me the skills of building with my hands and to see what works and not. Furthermore, my degree in mechanical engineering has given me the technical aspects of constructing products as well as the economics behind what’s feasible and what’s not when it comes to production. Through a personal interest in art and film I have gained a way of combining these into a profession which I aspire to fulfill. I have always enjoyed building stuff, I liked math as well as art in school, but I never knew these things were so closely related to each other, a kind of work that combine the crafts of engineering with the creative world, industrial design.
At the core of industrial design lies the creation of plans for manufacturing scale, this needs to change. I want to turn back time to an era when things were made to last. We can’t stop making products, but we can make them with a timeless design and a durable usage in mind. Make things to be able to age and look good with patina, to develop a characteristic through use. My brand is quality before quantity, this throw-away society is what got the environment to the tipping point which is where we are today. We need to go back in time to be able to reach the future!
I want to discover new things through the needs of design and I don’t want to be stopped by the limitations of technology, to adapt the technology to my design will be the challenge and this is what drives the world forward. I think simplicity is the key and I like natural materials and shapes as they are, beauty lies in the minimalistic characteristics.
From my point of view, it’s no use doing anything if you aren’t going to compete with the best, that’s my ambition, to be the best at what I do. My inspiration is to make the future seem real through models, animations, movies, and storytelling. To make products desirable, to make people want things and feel good using them and at the same time make these things have a minimal impact on the planet. I want to use design as a critical tool to make speculations and statements, to observe people, how they use and understand technology. I can take an electrical prototype, a patent or a mechanical assembly and turn it into a desirable, effective, and feasible object.
Call and say hello!
